The day I arrived in Bristol was the beginning of a different chapter of my life, which took an opposite turn to what I had before. Doing Narrative Inquiry back then in University of Bristol is the most out-of-comfort-zone thing I have done in my life, of which I am still quite proud.

I was previously a civil engineering teacher in a secondary school in Taiwan. After graduating from University of Bristol, I had the privilege to work in an international non-profit organization holding events all over the world for five years. Then, the third family member came.

Caring for our daughter was my choice but also inevitable. Those four years out of work in the UK was like living in another universe. Rather than going back to find a job in higher education, I decided to retrain as a teacher. Here I am, a mathematics teacher in a secondary school. I do feel that my path of now finally crosses the one from the past.
